Our Mission & Vision

Bridging Two Worlds

Mission

To preserve and celebrate Tharu culture, heritage, and identity, while building a strong, inclusive, and connected community in Victoria. We are committed to empowering youth leadership, supporting community wellbeing, organising cultural, social, and educational initiatives, and contributing positively to the wider Australian community through volunteerism, collaboration, and charitable action.

Vision

To create a thriving and united Tharu community in Victoria rooted in tradition, inspired by opportunity, and dedicated to preserving our heritage for future generations while actively contributing to Australia's multicultural society.

Our Story

Our founding members share deep roots in the Chitwan, Eastern Nepal region of Nepal, where the Tharu people have lived in harmony with nature for generations as guardians of the Terai. That spirit of resilience, community, and cultural pride continues in Victoria, where we come together to honour our heritage, support one another, and build a brighter future for generations to come.
